Reser Bicycle Outfitters OTR at 1419 Vine Street has come to fruition!
The business, started by Jason Reser, has served cyclists at its Monmouth Street location in Newport, Kentucky since 2000. With the growth in cycling’s popularity in Cincinnati, and recent increase in residents, businesses and entertainment in downtown Cincinnati, setting up a shop in the urban core seemed like the natural next step.
“More people are moving into the downtown and OTR area, and often, traveling by vehicle within the city is not seen as the most convenient option. For those in the city, traveling by bike often creates a more practical and enjoyable means of getting around, without the hassle of finding parking or paying for gas. It makes sense for us to bring a shop to these riders, to meet their needs in their own neighborhood,” says Jason, who was recently joined by Bryan Horton, another cycling enthusiast who became co-owner of the business earlier this year. “We really want to take part in supporting and promoting the culture of cycling that is growing in this area, while investing in a great neighborhood.” adds Bryan.
The OTR location focuses primarily on the needs of urban riders and commuters, carrying bikes (both new and used), including popular commuter brands and models, such as PUBLIC and Surly. Like the Newport location, the new shop also offers maintenance and repair services, as well as gear, apparel, nutrition, and accessories. The Newport location will continue to carry its wide selection of new mountain, road, commuter, cyclocross and childrens’ bikes, along with gear, apparel and nutrition. A grand opening celebration is in the works and is expected in the upcoming weeks.
